From the observed sky to the instruments that make it work. Our team consists of young, multidisciplinary personnel — astronomers and astrophysicists, research assistants, optomechanical engineers, mechanical engineers, and full-stack developers. We are tackling challenges in astronomical research on two fronts: novel research methods and cutting-edge instrumentation technology.

One team, two workshops

SEAL × OTTER is the joint effort of SEA OtTeRS and SEAL Lab: one loop from the sky to the instrument and back. SEA OtTeRS defines the science and the observing cadence; the instruments it needs are designed, machined, and measured at SEAL Lab; the optics then go back on the telescopes, where the next survey begins.
